Born on the field to a Vishkanyan general leading a war party into Inner Sea territory, Verinya was born with her only potential prospect being war. That changed when Geoffrey Menar, a paladin of Iomedae from Absalom, led a charge to destroy and scatter the war party- with commands to slay any and all invaders. Geoffrey’s heart softened when he saw baby Verinya however. He adopted her, protecting her from less discerning soldiers and bringing her back to Absalom to be raised in the Seventh Church of Iomedae, which she eventually joined as a paladin.
Verinya is neutral to her heritage, seeing the physical benefits but caring little for her homeland. She instead prefers to see herself as a native of Absalom, and kin to the humans and other less monstrous races she deals with on a daily basis.
At age 24, Verinya was tasked with patrolling the whole of the northern section of the Inner Sea for demons and ne’er-do-wells, with the hopes that she would perhaps garner some wisdom in her travels and be less of a burden to the church.
